Revenue tops £3bn at Jet2 owner as holiday sales rise

RA Real Estate clients Dart Group and Jet2.com report substantial increase in turnover

Turnover has grown by almost a third to more than £3bn at Dart Group, the company behind Jet2 and Jet2holidays, thanks to growing demand for its flights and package holidays.

The listed company reported turnover of £3.14bn for the year ended 31 March 2019, up 32 per cent from £2.38bn in 2017/18.

Profit before taxation also increased to £177.5m, up 36 per cent from £130.2m the year before.

The company said it had been boosted by the success of holiday flights with airline Jet2.com and package holidays with tour operator Jet2holidays.

During the year, Jet2.com flew 12.82 million flight-only and package holiday passenger, with its flight-only product used by 6.49 million passengers, up 21 per cent. Jet2holidays also took 3.17 million customers on package holidays, an increase of 27 per cent.
